Famous as a paradise for honeymoon couples, Mount Abu is a lush green hill station situated in the desert state of Rajasthan. Just like other cities of Rajasthan, mythological legends and folklores haunt the lakes, caves, and temples of Mount Abu. The enviable architectural heritage of the city owes itself to Rajput rulers and colonial times. Dense forests with excellent trekking trails, summer palaces of Rajput kings, and most beautiful and ornate Jain Temple of India - Dilwara Jain Temple - built in marble seems to take us to another plane of existence.
Nakki Lake, situated at the heart of Mount Abu, is said to have been scraped by gods and demi-gods, using only their nails. The Toad Rock near the lake and the Sunset Point in the city offer some of the most majest views around the area. The highest peak of the Aravallis, Guru Shikhar, is quite close to Manali. The wildlife sanctuary of the city is a big draw for all those who love flora and fauna. With over 250 bird species, as many as 17 nature trails, and animal species such as leopard, chinkara, sloth bear, wild boar and langurs are, the Manali Wildlife Sanctuary is something you must not miss.
