 Laxmi Vilas Palace was built in 1887 but added to the list of Heritage Hotels of Rajasthan only 15 years back. It was built the residence for Raja Raghunath Singh, the younger brother of the then ruler of Bharatpur - Maharaja Ram Singh and was a fantasy creation designed to create the royal magic in stone.
